In Cambodia today, there are tens of thousands of disabled persons trying to eke out a living in a country that is ill suited to handle these number. CHA was founded in January 2000, in response to this situation. It trains landmine and polio victims in tailoring, weaving and carving, and running a small business. The mission of CHA project is to make life better for the handicapped. CHA is the working place for Landmine and Polio disabled Cambodians to improve their skills and learn more skills as well as train them in small business. Also, CHA helps the producers/trainees make a sustanable smallbusiness plan when they go back to their villages. As important as the workshop is the promoting of self-confidence, independence, and integration into Cambodian society. Moreover, CHA tries to increase the ability of disabled persons to be socially and economically progressive, and provide or support employment for Cambodian nationals with disabilities, primarily by means of prducing or marketing Cambodian silk crafts. Please contact CHA directly for more information about its products, people, and mission.
