Three Wise Monkeys : See no evil,
hear no evil and speak no evil. Hand carved in Kenya, this set of three 7" carvings
is carved from teak. 
Party Animals: These six
carved animals sit around a map of Africa. Each animal and stool is a single
piece of wood. The set includes a glass for each animal and a wine bottle. Each
animal is approximately 8 inches tall.

Mtoto Doll Male or Female:
Made at the TEMAK (Teenage Mothers Association of Kenya), the mtoto rag doll
(14" tall ) is a result of the tailoring training the centre provides to the young
mothers. Each one is handmade and unique and has a hidden pocket that contains a
note from the teenage mother. Please allow us to choose one for you. |
Boda Boda : Made
by the artists in Kisumu, each bicycle is slightly different. This unique piece of
craftsmanship represents the most common form of transport in Kisumu, the Boda Boda or
Bicycle Taxi. Boda Boda literally translates to Border to Border as the bicycle taxi is
found on the Ugandan/ Kenya borders. Approximately 8" long.

In Kenya children really do play with these unique handmade toys.
They are fashioned from scrap wire a cloth, each has a 36 inch handle. When they are
pushed on the floor they become animated. We have two designs, a cyclist who pedals when
pushed and the bird whose wings flap.

Painted Tin Fish and Dancer Mobile
 
Made from scrap sheets of bottle caps from the local bottling company,
these mobiles are painted brilliant colors on boths sides and catch every eye.
Colors may vary. |
Mobiles: The
bicycle mobiles, dancing girl mobiles with beads, and the beer bug mobiles are made
from recycled scrap wire and tin, while the planets are carved from soapstone. All
these mobiles are made in Kisumu, Western Kenya.
