Large Divided Box
We originally wanted a desk
organizer but when Kennedy made this great divided box we thought that it would be
great for coffee, sugar, spices and anything else you might keep in a canister. The
natural colors on these are beautiful and the elephant handle reminds one that it's from
Africa.

The material for these
soapstone items is mined in Tabaka, Kenya, carved into a myriad of different shapes, and
either polished to bring out the natural beauty of the stone or painted and etched with
designs. Each item is carved by hand using simple hand tools. Most items are available in different designs and colors.
The colors and designs available for each item are displayed in a drop-down selection box
during the order process. "Bahati" designs depict whimsical animals
including lizards, guinea fowl, fish, and four-legged "mystery" animals.
While we call these items, "kitchen
soapstone", soapstone cannot be used for cooking. The color is painted rather
than fire glazed like ceramics and the white designs are etched. The items are
safe for dry contents but should not be used for liquids.
